  This laptop Is so great…blazing fast and you can play lots of games at decent performance…but some of the new games won’t be that great specially at high resolution ( like Crysis for instance)…..but the only problem that i find annoying is the smudgy dusty chassis…..fusion looks cool but if there’s a lot of dust in the air you have to clean your laptop almost daily….and the price dropped 50 $ 2 daYS AFTER i bought it

  final thoughts: great multitasking laptop for every day use and casual gaming… but for hardcore gamers u have to consider a higher laptop for some extra bucks

  I do a variety of freelance video and photo work.
  This laptop has the RAM and hard drive space to make it great for productions and editing on the go.
  The firewire port is especially useful for hooking up a camcorder and recording directly to the laptop, or for transferring DV tapes from the camcorder to digital format.

  The webcam and built in microphone are good for video-conferencing and impromptu video-blogging.

  This computer is a great deal for the multi-media oriented buyer!

  I had problems with the laptop, it is under maintenance since 29-May-2009 ,after purchased on May 10, 2009 from Amazon.com, a blue screen appears and then it reiniziate. I am not very pleased with the toshiba support center.

  The Toshiba Satellite A355-S6925 16.0-Inch Laptop is under maintenance since 04-Apr-2009 ,after purchased on February 9, 2009 from Amazon.com order number: 103-6410839-3856257, Power failure, to now not repaired yet by local Toshiba support.

  I’m a professional photographer and graphic designer. I run a several applicatiions at a time and process a lot of 21 megapixel images at once. This Toshiba does what I tell it to RIGHT NOW.

  You don’t know what you’re buying into until you have to deal with customer service. I found that the wireless internet feature didn’t work and with great trepidation phoned their customer service number. I got a real person I could understand and she worked towards the solution, but had to pass me along to a higher tech who patiently worked with me. He had me un-install some stuff (I’m not a techie) and re-install it again. This took time, and he asked if he could call me back when it was done. He phoned back moments after the process finished (he must’ve set a timer) and resolved the problem. Now I know I not only have a computer which thoroughly meets my needs, but that I have customer support if I need it.

  This Toshiba laptop computer looks beautiful but come with a battery that last only for one day. The first day I use the laptop to create a copy of the rescue disk and the applications and drivers. The next day when I boot up the laptop and I find that the battery has 0% charge and cannot take charge, I have to use the laptop with the power adapter plug in. I have used many laptop computers before and the batteries last at least 2 years and this one is the worst I’ve ever met.

  I shopped around for 6 months after my 3 year HP 9400 died—I didn’t want to make that mistake again!! I narrowed it down to Dell or Toshiba laptop, and selected the Toshiba. It has performed flawlessly in it’s first month, so I feel I made the rite choice.

  Good hardware configuration, esp. for the price; excellent for casual use. I would not recommend this machine to a tech savvy user for professional use.

  It is the best compromise that I could find between price and features. Bluetooth drivers are in it but you have to add the chip ($5 dongle and taking up a USB port). The worst compromise is it comes with almost no software, but that seems to be standard practice in the industry now.

  My complaints are the touch pad interface is intermittent making it sometimes too sensitive and other times I cannot drag the cursor anywhere, and the cursor ‘disappears’ when the memory is busy. The integrated graphics and dynamic RAM allocation can be smarter; I still have to manually clear cache to retain performance when using graphics-intensive applications.

  Read the one-star review and the responses to it about the cursor jumping to different parts of the screen during typing. Those people say it’s the touch pad picking up static from the thumb. If that’s indeed the reason for that annoying error, then it’s a design flaw. Other vendors’ touch pads don’t do this.

  I really like this computer I have been using it now for about a month. It has good features and a plenty of space on the hard drive. This is my first Tosiba laptop and I really enjoy it. I think I might even be a convert from Dell, time will tell.

  I RECOMMEND THIS NOTEBOOK FOR PERSONAL BASIC USE AND MORE. IT SEEMS A LITTLE BIG AT FIRST GLANCE, BUT WHEN YOU GET USED TO IT, IT-S GREAT.

  I’m totally impressed with this little Toshiba notebook. Its got the hardware specs to handle Vista, multitasking, and even a little light 3D gaming. Battery life is good, and the screen is very crisp and colorful. The 64 bit Vista OS and max memory capacity offer possible future upgrades, if desired. Build quality is acceptable; its no Toughbook, but its sturdy enough to survive a few bangs and jars while being toted around in my backpack (its also very light and easy to carry). The glossy keyboard took some getting used to, its a little slick, but gives nice springy feedback when keys are pressed. The roomy hard drive provides plenty of space for music, videos, and even another operating system

  Upon receiving this notebook, I setup a separate drive partition and installed the Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit Release Candidate. It runs great, very quick and capable when multitasking, and the Vista 64 bit drivers provided by Toshiba are all compatible and working. I look forward to upgrading this fall, and using this Toshiba notebook for several years.

  Its a great little notebook at a very fair price, I was looking at another similar model from Dell, which with similar options (bluetooth, memory, 64 bit OS), was a little over $1100, with a 2 week wait. I picked this Toshiba up from Amazon, on sale, for $770 shipped, and received it within a week. I’m very happy with this Amazon purchase.
